-Happy Wednesday Everyone

I hope you’re having a lovely week. I just got back from a two day trip to Chicago, and let me tell you, it was much needed. I feel revived and renewed (I also, had WAY to much caffeine). Anyways, I don’t have multiple blog posts from Chicago because I wanted to live in the moment. I’ve always seen pictures for Heritage Bicycle and It was instantly put on the list of things to do. I’ve always loved their branding their space is absolutely beautiful. Shelby and I parked, and made our way to the shop. When I saw the flags in the window, I new that we had arrived. We walked into Heritage and I couldn’t believe that I had finally made it. Shelby got a iced chai and it tasted amazing and I got a cappuccino. Let’s just say, If I didn’t have a bike already, I would’ve bought one right then and there.

Here’s more about Heritage:

Our commitment is first and foremost to customer satisfaction, but we also emphasize eco-friendly transportation and local manufacturing. We are proud to be the first completely Chicago-made bike since Schwinn production left the city in the ’70s.

We are excited to share all this with you. Come visit us at the shop that feels like home and smells like the best coffee you’ll ever have.

Heritage is a mash-up of two concepts and cultures that really go hand in hand: bikes and coffee. If you’ve never thought to pair the two, don’t worry, we're here making sense of it from 7am to 7pm, seven days a week.

Whether you come in to fix a flat, to grab a latte or a new Yakkay helmet, or to try the latest seasonal options from our own Heritage Coffee, we are here to make you feel at home in Chicago’s original bike café. We have seen people come in for a cup of coffee and walk out with a vintage-inspired, handcrafted bicycle. We've also seen people come in looking for tubes leave with 12 ounces of some of the world’s finest coffee.

Whether you come in to relax or to work (we know the coffee shop is the new home office!), you can enjoy our free wi-fi and the stellar show put on by the bike mechanics in the garage, as well as the sweet and savory treats from some of Chicago’s finest kitchens, including West Town Bakery and other local favorites. (Don’t miss out on the Mast Brothers chocolate bars, either, especially since they're hard to find in the Midwest!) For those of you who prefer less caffeine, we carry an awesome selection of loose-leaf teas, as well as hot chocolate. Watch our specials board too, so as not to miss our delicious rotating seasonal drinks.

In between sips you can peruse our retail space, which features brands such as Brooks, Lezyne, Velo-Orange, Abus, and more. Most everything is American-made (sometimes even locally made here in Chicago), from the bike racks, bags, ponchos, t-shirts, and helmets, to the jewelry crafted out of recycled bike parts. We are also proud suppliers of Yakkay helmets and Brooks saddles (made in Denmark and England, respectively).

Don’t be surprised to find that the guy ringing you up is the owner, Mike, who lives right here in the neighborhood with his wife, Melissa, and their sons, Bennett and Owen. Just as they have become fixtures in the neighborhood, we hope Heritage becomes your regular spot too. Bring your family, your friends, and your laptop, and above all, please enjoy yourself.

If you’d like to check them out or if you’re in the Chicago area, here’s their social media!
