Good Morning Everyone!
The weather is slowly turning to fall and I couldn't be more excited. Aaron and I have been talking about how we've been craving cinnamon rolls. With him and I being busy with work and school, I decided to make some cinnamon rolls but with a twist. When the Fall season hits, I turn into this warm, spice, sweater loving man who wants to bake on a constant. I decided to whip up what I call " Harvest Rolls ":
: Recipe :
1 Cup Flour
1 Tbs White Sugar
2 Tbs Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Pink Himalayan sea salt
1.5 Tbs butter
6 Tbs milk
: Filling :
2 Tbs butter
1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
1/4 Cup Cocoa Powder
1 tsp apple pie spice
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1/2 tsp cloves
1 Tbs sugar
: Glaze :
1/4 Cup Powder Sugar
1/8 Cup Milk
1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees
Step 2: Mix together your filling ingredients together and set aside. The mixture will be spreadable when ready to put onto dough.
Step 3: In a large mixing bowl mix together your dry ingredients (flour, sugar, baking powder, salt)
Step 4: Using you hands or a pastry cutter, cut in the butter. The mixture should look like oats.
Step 5: Pour in milk and mix until the dough comes together.
Step 6: When combined, flour a surface and roll your dough out into a rectangle
Step 7: Add your filling mixture onto your dough
Step 8: Slowly roll up your cinnamon rolls into a log
Step 9: Put in fridge to chill for 30 minutes
Step 10: When chilled, cut the dough into rolls
Step 11: In a greased circle pan, place rolls into a circle
Step 12: Bake for 20-25 minutes until lightly brown
Step 13: While baking, make glaze by mixing the sugar, milk, and pumpkin pie spice together.
Step 14: When the rolls are finished baking, pour the glaze onto your rolls and serve!
