The Counting House - Grand Rapids, MI
Happy Saturday Everyone ~
I’m slowly getting back into the swing of things after the holidays and have a new little blog post for you. As the holidays over took everything (energy, time, and my credit cards) I tried to shop local as best as I could for the holidays. With there only being a few shops here locally in Chesaning, I made my way to Birmingham, Royal Oak, and Grand Rapids. As I endured the winter weather, the traffic, and two turn signal lights that were burned out (don’t worry, they’re fixed now), I stopped into Counting House in Grand Rapids. My friends kept telling me that I need to check it out and that it was a shop that simply was a mixture of everything that I loved. The words “rustic modern” kept re-appearing when everyone sent pictures to me on Instagram. When I took a day trip to pick up some Mokaya for Christmas day, I knew that I had to stop into The Counting House. I walked in an about fell over. It was a Christmas dream. The entrance covered in pine with a vintage toboggan hung up and as I walked in, It was as if I walked into the most hyggelig place that I ever experience. A fire was lit, pine strewn over the fireplace, candles burning, and the perfect gifts that I could ever think of. From Faribault Mill, Pendleton , and many more wonderful products. The owner, Megan, stopped me at the counter and showed me around her wonderful store and welcomed me with open arms. I instantly wanted to curl up on the couch with a cup of coffee and fall asleep.
