— Happy Monday All

It has been a whirlwind of a week and let's just say hitting rock bottom is not the greatest way to begin the weekend. When your tires blow out and your break lines give out, you tend to want to recede back into a hole (as a cancer, I tend to do that sometimes); but hey, It's a new week! Today, apparently Mars is going to show itself in the sky tonight. Which is an interesting planetary experience to see as we just got relinquished from retrograde. I have a feeling that theres going to be a few changes happening here soon. Anyways...

With all of the life stuff that has happened in the past week, all I can think about its running off to a distant land and starting over with a clean slate. Portland keeps popping up in my head in more ways than one. From watching old Portlandia episodes, to seeing my friends travel there, it keeps popping up. The dream is to honestly meet new people and find the coffee shops around the world but with hunting for a job currently, that doesn't seem to be in the works at the moment. My parents always bring up me not having a job and are praying that I find one, next to my brother who is trying to get his CPA certification. I don't know if it was a mistake or a blessing moving home. I mean, I've learned a lot about myself in the last month but sometimes being home is suffocating. Don't get me wrong, I love my family to death and they're the reason that WB exists, but sometimes, It's a little to much. I dream of a distant land, somewhere new, somewhere beautiful, and somewhere where I can begin again. In moment's like these, I believe that being gentle to yourself is the most important thing that you can do. Whilst you work your ass off, practice being gentle with yourself and always keep fighting for the things that you want and deserve.

These moment's take me back to Mackinac Island. Seeing such a whimsical town that was somewhat displaced in my opinion, almost transported me into the streets of Copenhagen. Yes, the island may have horses and no cars, but the architecture instantly took me to somewhere that wasn't necessarily and island. Regardless that it's a tourist trap for sure, there was this whimsical charm that instantly allowed myself to go somewhere new. For the day at least. The mountains are calling, the waves are pulling me in, and a less humid location seems absolutely lovely.

As Ellen would say, "It’s our challenges and obstacles that give us layers of depth and make us interesting. Are they fun when they happen? No. But they are what make us unique."

Talk to you soon -
