Floral Gin Fizz x Belvoir and The Mason Shaker
On Wednesday, my friends and I celebrated my birthday and we decided to have a little gathering around food. I decided to craft some cocktails for my lovely friends and as you all know, they were excited for me to be the bartender for the night. These cocktails are the epitome of summer and we got a few of the ingredients right out of the garden in the backyard. Here is the recipe:
Ingredients per drink
1 Shot Gin
3 Mint leaves
2 Tbs Honey or Agave Nectar
Belvoir Elderflower Lemonade
Cucumber for garnish
2 Tbs Lavender Simply Syrup ( recipe is down below )
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
3 sprigs of lavender
1 Tbs Honey or Agave Nectar
First things first: The lavender simple syrup:
Meahgan had some lavender growing in her garden so I grabbed a few sprigs ( The mint is also from her garden). I then grabbed a small saucepan and put it on medium heat. I did a one to one ratio with water and sugar ( 1 cup water- 1 cup sugar) Then I picked the flowers off of the sprigs of lavender and added them. I then added the 2 tbs honey. I let the syrup cook until it was clear and translucent. Make sure that the sugar is dissolved. I took it off of the heat and let the lavender steep for 20 minutes.
Now for the drink!
Grab a martini shaker (Always loving my Mason Shaker)
Step 1: Add your Mint and blueberries to the shaker. Muddle with a muddler or if you don't have one, use a wooden spoon.
Step 2: Add your shot of gin, elderflower lemonade, and your cooled lavender simple syrup.
Step 3: Add some ice and SHAKE!!!!
Step 4: Pour into a glass and finish off with sparkling water!
Step 5: To make it pretty, add a couple blueberries and a sliver of cucumber!
