What Truly Matters

It has been a long time since I've posted on the blog. And frankly, It has been a long ( excuse my vernacular) ass couple of months. Life has been extremely difficult. With school, personal stuff, and work, I haven't even had the time to think about what quality content (or what kind of content) that I deemed feasible for the blog/brand/site. Yes, Wendling & Boyd is now a brand. But this little editorial space is where I can place my personal content. Yes, It will be filled with process work and such but there were will be blimps of the old personal Ty on here (more on the process work later). But with a painful months comes a plethora of introspection.

Daily Fika 9: Tina Rae Gibbs

The day that school got out, I made some plans to celebrate. I got dinner at Donkey with some friends but then I decided...as you know... to grab a cup of coffee. My friend Tina Rae Gibbs and I have been instagram friends for months now and I texted to her to see if she wanted to join me.  We grabbed coffee at Rowster and just relaxed. 2 Years of Wendling & Boyd | Vanilla Black Tea Pudding Cakes

But now it has evolved into this "THING" that no one would think a small farmer's boy would start. This feeling that I have now about my blog is otherworldly. Sometimes when I get emails, I still think I'm dreaming. This journey has been beautiful and I can't wait to go on more adventures

Up North: An Escape

As a child, I always loved going to the cabin that my Grandma and Grandpa Wendling owned in Houghton Lake. It was an escape, a place where all things summer could be appealed and all things adventurous could take place. If I can recall, my first Squarespace blog post happened while I was up north. I remember through the entire evolution of W & B, I used to have this rather...rustic aesthetic. Hiking, buffalo, the woods, nature...etc

Make an Arrangement: A Simple Guide

Grandma Boyd always had a garden of flowers. She had almost an "army" if you will of flowers guarding the house. Mums, sunflowers, tulips, lilacs, morning glory, bleeding hearts, gardenia's, if it was growable in Michigan she had it . It's almost therapeutic to make flower arrangements and or even going out and looking at the natural world. So with working all weekend at a client's house, I decided to make an arrangement out of the wildflowers to brighten up the house.
