Coffee Old Fashioned with Slow & Low

Happy Saturday Everyone!

As the year ends and the season of festivities begin to hibernate for the year, I wanted to post about one of the cocktails that I served on Christmas Eve to my family. Slow & Low was ever so wonderful and sent me a huge care package of whiskey to create coffee cocktail of sorts. As a lover of all things entertaining and cocktails, I wanted to create a cocktail that was a sipper but also something that was enjoyable for the masses. Most of my family drinks beer and wine and don’t touch liquor at all. Every once in awhile I try to introduce them to new things to break their habits. The joys of living in a farming town. Personally, I love an old fashioned but I wanted to make it a tad sweeter and more warm for my family to enjoy. Let’s get cracking on this recipe for my coffee old fashioned. Trust me, this is an easy recipe.

(makes one cocktail)

1.5 Oz. Slow & Low Rock & Rye

1.5 Oz. Creme de cacao

1.5 Oz. Cooled Espresso

1.5 Oz. Water

2 Dashes Bitters

1 tsp. Maple Syrup

(shaker, ice, and jigger)

Step 1: In a shaker full of ice, add all of your ingredients.

Step 2: Shake until the shaker is cold to the touch.

Step 3: Pour out into a rocks glass with a sphere of ice.

Step 4: Enjoy!

This is the perfect cocktail for anyone who wants to start trying whiskey and it’s the perfect leisure drink. I want to thank the Slow & Low team for sending over their product and I will always have it on my bar cart for every occasion!
