Cinnamon Rolls

It has been a year since my Great Grandma Gross passed away but she left me a cook book that was her staple in the kitchen. I was thumbing through the recipes and found a recipe for a simple batch of cinnamon rolls. So what happens in a situation like this? Grab your apron and head to the kitchen!

1 C. Scalded Milk
2 T. Shortening
1 Pkg. Yeast
1 t. salt
1 egg, well beaten
3 1/2 C. flour
1 C. Water
1 t. sugar

Add shortening to milk and scald. Then mix the yeast and water together; add to cooled milk. Add remaining ingredients and mix. Knead. Let raise till double in bulk. Fill with butter cinnamon, brown sugar, and clove. Let raise again, Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes until brown. Mix powdered sugar and milk until desired texture as glaze.
